After collapsing Thursday during practice, Pittsburgh’s Darius Patton was rushed to the emergency room and subsequently hospitalized for an unknown medical condition.
A day later, however, the wide receiver was released from the hospital a day later and, fortunately, all signs are pointing to the true freshman being none the worse for the wear.
“We hoped that he is doing well,” head coach Todd Graham said. “We are very pleased that things are going well with that situation and that he is doing well.”
There’s still no official word on what caused Patton to collapse, or when he might return to the practice field.
Patton was a three-star member of Pitt’s 2011 recruiting class out of Poland, Ohio, and could be a contributor on some level during his first season with the Panthers.
