No. 1 Alabama’s win over Florida may -- stressing the word “may” -- come with a short-term loss for the Tide.
Star wide receiver Julio Jones suffered a bruised knee in the beatdown of the Gators. An MRI performed on the knee came back clean, but head coach Nick Saban is not ready to firmly state the receiver will be healthy enough for this weekend’s game against No. 19 South Carolina.
“Julio bruised his knee in the game,” Saban said. “Again, you never know how these things are. We did an MRI, checked it out and made sure he’s OK, and he’ll be day-to-day, at least for the first part of the week, and we’ll see how he progresses.”
Jones’ 24 catches, 322 receiving yards and 2 receiving touchdowns all lead the team.
