Hey, they can’t all be future games against Alabama (2016 in Arlington) or Texas (home-and-home series in 2017 and 2018) or the like.
That being said, USC announced early Tuesday afternoon that it has reached an agreement for a one-off game with Rice of Conference USA. The game will be played Sept. 3, 2022, with, of course, the historic Coliseum will serve as the venue.
The Trojans and Owls have squared off a total of three times previously. The first game was played in 1947 and the last in 1971, with USC winning the last two after the first ended in a 7-all tie.
That ’71 meeting was the lone one played at Rice Stadium.
