This season of college football may not be going according to the Hollywood script that was believed to be written for UCLA and quarterback Brett Hundley, but it still appears Hundley could be destined to be heading to the NFL. Whenever that happens to take place, Hundley could be represented by one of the hot names in sports and entertainment.
Roc Nation’s sports client list includes Geno Smith, Ndamukong Suh and Victor Cruz, as well as a handful of other athletes like baseball pitcher CC Sabathia and basketball star Kevin Durant. Hundley could be among the next players to join the agency led by media mogul Jay-Z. It may be nothing more than speculation at this point, but Inside The League suggests it is a near lock Hundley will join the agency once he declares for the NFL. Many suspect Hundley, a redshirt junior, will declare for the NFL Draft in 2015.
As explained by Forbes, Hundley is likely expected to receive a marketing offer that would pay Hundley an advance payment of $1 million that would be repaid by the player through revenue generated in marketing deals until the upfront payment is paid off. Roc Nation Sports would not necessarily represent Hundley in negotiations for Hundley’s future NFL contract, although it would be capable of handling such a contract from within.
Hundley and UCLA are back in action this week in Pac-12 play. After two straight losses, to Utah and Oregon, Hundley looks to lead the Bruins to victory this weekend against California on the road. Cal has played better this season and is 2-1 at home. UCLA is 3-0 in games away from home, including a victory over Texas in Arlington, Texas.
