DRAFT is back for another season of quick and exciting daily fantasy action. Their DFS platform offers poolies with a chance to participate in a format that most of us have grown very accustomed to over the years. You can compete in a live snake draft in which the participants take a player with each pick. Unlike other DFS games, this gives you the opportunity to use your knowledge to craft a team that no one else will have because the players you select cannot be chosen by your competition.
The draft is quick as you are allotted just 30 seconds per pick and you take five players. Your team is comprised of three forwards, a defenseman and a goalie.
Your strategy can be dictated by the positions being selected ahead of you. For instance, if you are going last and everyone else has a goaltender then you can wait until your last pick to make that selection. Of course, selecting players going up against weaker competition or players who are riding hot streaks are always popular strategies as well.
Remember, there are new pools available to play in but the players in my rankings will fall off the table as soon as the puck drops in their respective game.

There will be plenty of firepower to choose from when Tampa Bay hosts Winnipeg on Tuesday night, but NHL leading scorer Kucherov should still be considered the top option. The top players on the Avalanche will be in high demand versus the struggling Red Wings. Carolina and Boston have both been red hot and the last time they faced it was a 5-3 win for the Hurricanes with Aho and Teravainen posting two goals and two assists apiece. The top players on Pittsburgh, Columbus and the Islanders will be good players to build around as well.
Defense Rankings:

Hedman, who has two goals and two helpers in his last three outings, takes the top spot from Josi, who has slowed down of late. Yandle, who has one goal and six assists in his last six matches, and Ekman-Larsson, who has two goals and five assists during a five-game point streak, are worth highlighting because they have been piling up points of late. Klingberg is expected to play Tuesday despite skipping Monday’s practice due to an illness. He has seven points in the last seven contests and is coming off a three-point effort on Saturday.
Goaltender Rankings:
- Robin Lehner
- Andrei Vasilevskiy
- Sergei Bobrovsky
- Matt Murray
- Pekka Rinne
- Jaroslav Halak
- Ben Bishop
- Darcy Kuemper
- Carey Price
- Semyon Varlamov
Lehner will look to bounce back if he gets the nod after he was pulled early on Sunday versus Philadelphia. He has been superb this year and has a good matchup against Ottawa if he plays. Thomas Greiss would be worth taking with the top selection if he gets the nod for the Islanders instead. Vasilevskiy has been so good this season that he has the potential to flourish regardless of the opponent. Bobrovsky is in need of a strong outing and New Jersey has several players missing due to injury. Everyone else on the list could end up as the winning goaltender. Kuemper’s seven-game win streak is worth mentioning.
