In case you needed further proof that Miguel Angel Jimenez is just cooler than the rest of us, the Spaniard offered up yet another example Friday at the EurAsia Cup.
Jimenez is serving as both captain and participant for the European squad this week in Malaysia, and he authored an early highlight during the second day of competition. Bunkered short of the green on the third hole, the 50-year-old splashed out and watched as the ball trickled into the hole for an eagle.
He then showed that he knows exactly what to do when the camera zooms in for a close-up:
Jimenez and teammate Pablo Larrazabal went on to halve their match with Thongchai Jaidee and Kiradech Aphibarnrat, but Team Europe still holds a 7-3 advantage heading into the event’s third and final day. A solid effort from the Europeans in Saturday’s singles matches could have Jimenez cracking a bottle of Rioja and lighting a fresh cigar in celebration.
