ATLANTA – Phil Mickelson was been rather vocal in his disapproval of Rees Jones’ redo of Cog Hill, site of the last playoff event in Chicago.

Following his Friday round at the BMW Championship he offered a not-so-gentle, “I’m not good enough to play this golf course,” assessment of Jones’ handiwork.

On Saturday at East Lake – another Jones redo, by the by – Mickelson was not as critical of the Tour Championship venue following a third-round 68.

“It’s a very fair course, it was just tough,” he said.
