Woods poised to design course in Mexico

Tiger Woods may be poised to design his second golf course in Mexico.

Reports on Tuesday suggest Woods will design a second golf course at the Diamante development in Cabo San Lucas.

A representative for the property said they are in discussions with Woods, but no contract has been signed and nothing can be announced publicly at this time. Developers are ‘shopping for a big name’ and looking to break ground in the ‘next month or two.’ The property already boasts a course designed by Davis Love III, which opened to critical acclaim.

An email to Woods’ representatives was not returned.

Woods is the designer of Punta Brava, a hyper-exclusive course and development slated to open in 2013 along seven miles of coast line in Ensenada, Baja California. The other two developments Woods was contracted to design - Al Ruwaya in Dubai and The Cliffs in North Carolina - have folded due to the global collapse in the real estate market.
