White Sox RHP prospect Andrew Dalquist allowed just an unearned run over five innings with seven strikeouts for Low-A Kannapolis.
Dalquist allowed just two hits in the contest, and he walked two on top of the seven punchouts. Drafted in the third round in 2019 and given a $2 million bonus out of a California high school, Dalquist is one of the best prospects in the Chicago system now. He can get downhill with a fastball that gets into the 90s, and both his slider/cutter and curveball have a chance to be above-average. The command comes and goes, but that’s true for a lot of pitchers his age (20 until November). This is very much a long-term play, but Dalquist has the stuff to be a solid starter, and if more velocity comes, he could pitch near the top of a rotation someday.
