All the fans of good teams get to be excited about the playoffs, but me and my fellow fans of bad teams can start thinking ahead to next June’s draft! (Note: Ugh.)
By virtue of finishing with the worst record in baseball at 64-98 the Diamondbacks--with a new general manager and, soon, a new manager--have the No. 1 overall pick. Houston gets the No. 2 overall pick as compensation for failing to sign this year’s No. 1 overall pick, Brady Aiken, so all the other picks are pushed down one spot.
