In a column in which he looks at the off-season ahead for the Cardinals, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that GM John Mozeliak expressed interest in bringing back first baseman Brandon Moss for the 2016 season.
The Cardinals acquired Moss in a trade with the Indians ahead of the July 31 deadline. In 151 plate appearances with the Cardinals, Moss hit .250/.344/.409 with four home runs and eight RBI. He had a hit and an RBI in four post-season trips to the plate as well.
Moss, 32, is entering his fourth and final year of arbitration eligibility after earning $6.5 million in 2015.
