David Ortiz, as he normally does, was launching some home runs during batting practice prior to Thursday night’s game against the Twins. He hit one of them so hard down the right field line that it got stuck about halfway up the right field foul pole at Fenway Park, known as Pesky’s Pole.

Alex Speier of the Boston Globe tweeted a picture:

Ortiz was proud of his work. He told Jen McCaffrey of Masslive.com, “You’re only going to see a bad (expletive) like me doing that. You have to hit the (expletive) out of the ball for that (expletive) to happen.”
