Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports is reporting that Royals bench coach Don Wakamatsu will interview with the Rockies and Diamondbacks for their opening manager positions.

Wakamatsu, 53, has two years of major league managing experience coming with the Mariners in 2009-10. He led the club to an overall 127-147 record. The Mariners fired him in August of 2010 as the club was en route to a 61-101 record.

Wakamatsu has been serving as the Royals’ bench coach since 2014 and had previously coached for the Rangers, Athletics, and Blue Jays.

Red Sox bench coach Torey Lovullo is considered the favorite for the Diamondbacks’ manager position, but they’re also considering Alex Cora and Phil Nevin.
