Red Sox starter Steven Wright has been scratched from his next start due to an injured shoulder, Evan Drellich of the Boston Herald reports. The club has restructured their rotation such that Eduardo Rodriguez will start on Thursday, David Price on Friday, and Clay Buchholz on Saturday.
Wright suffered the injury when he pinch-ran for David Ortiz during Sunday’s game in Los Angeles against the Dodgers. He dove back to first base, which is when the injury occurred.
Wright, 31, is 13-5 with a 3.01 ERA and a 123/51 K/BB ratio in 146 2/3 innings this season. The knuckleballer also leads the majors with four complete games. He was named to the American League All-Star roster but did not play in the game last month.
