Sure, Terry Francona would manage again if someone called him

Boston Red Sox manager Terry Francona leaves the field after being ejected from the game by umpire Mark Ripperger (not pictured) after arguing a controversial call during the fourth inning of their American League MLB baseball game against the Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field in Seattle, in this file image from August 13, 2011. Francona’s eight-year run as Red Sox manager ended September 30, 2011, when the team announced he was not returning next season. Francona, nicknamed Tito, led the Red Sox to the World Series title in 2004 -- ending a championship drought dating back to 1918 - and again in 2007, but speculation about his future increased after the Red Sox missed this season’s playoffs after a dramatic late season collapse. Terry Francona has taken to baseball commentary better than most ex-players and ex-managers do, but he’s not ruling out getting back in uniform. Well, in his case it’d be back in windbreaker, but you know what I mean. Bob Nightengale reports:

Francona, whose eight-year, stint with the Red Sox ended last September, told USA TODAY Sports he’d be interested in managing, but only for the right job.

“If something down the road presents itself and it’s the right job, I’d like to do it,” Francona said. “But I don’t want to manage just to manage.”

I hope he doesn’t manage next season because I have a sneaking suspicion Bobby Valentine is gonna be back on ESPN in 2013 and I think their banter would be rich.
