Denny Hamlin was forced to drive with a partially blocked view after his hood flew up on Lap 29 of the Cheez-It 355. Hamlin managed to continue to drive before being forced to pit road to remove the hood.
Hamlin returned to the track after it was removed, but debris from the incident brought out a caution on Lap 32. Under the caution, Hamlin’s team put the hood from its back-up car on the FedEx Toyota.
Hamlin experienced a similar issue in a practice session for the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
