Kevin Durant said his hamstring felt “way better.”

Soon – maybe very soon – it’ll be time to test it in a game.

Marc Stein of ESPN:

Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant is on course to return to the lineup this week, according to league sources.
Durant was not cleared to play in Sunday night’s home win over Dallas, but it’s believed that either Monday night’s visit to Utah or Wednesday’s home game against Brooklyn are strong possibilities for his return.

The Thunder have gone 4-3 since Durant’s injury, including a win over the Wizards that Durant left early. Russell Westbrook has averaged 32.7 points, 9.3 assists and 7.7 rebounds in the six games Durant has missed entirely.

And that was plenty.

Oklahoma City – 8-6 overall – just needed to stay afloat without Durant. Barring losses to the Jazz and Nets without Durant, that’s done.

Next, the Thunder must get back to growing with Durant in Billy Donovan’s system. This can be a championship team, but it’ll take time for everything to click.

Getting Durant back on the court is a huge step in the right direction.
