  • NO Defensive Back #27
Saints selected Alabama CB Alontae Taylor with the No. 49 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Taylor (6’0/199) made 31 starts over the course of his four-year career with the Volunteers. He was an on-again, off-again starter over his first three years. During that time, he posted average PFF grades over 1,623 snaps while recording two interceptions and nine pass breakups. His senior year saw a huge breakout. His PFF grade grew by nearly 30 points from his junior year going from 56.4 to 83.1. He had three games where he graded over 80 in both overall and coverage while also accumulating two interceptions and four pass breakups. Taylor has the size, length, and speed to thrive on the outside. He struggles mightly with change of direction and isn’t the best mover outside of straight-line speed. Taylor projects to play both the slot and on the outside for the Saints in Year 1.
