NHLPA head Donald Fehr claims that players have been putting money aside for a potential lockout, according to The Associated Press.
“Players have been saving for a couple years now,” Fehr said.
Fehr says that players hope that talks won’t turn out like they did last time - or like they did for players in other sports.
“A lot of them think that pure and simply they were taken advantage of last time and the owners want to take advantage of them again,” Fehr said. “It sorts of looks exactly what happened in hockey the last time and exactly how it played out in basketball and football so far. But I hope not.”
