Rangers forward Rick Nash played in Columbus for the first time on Friday night since being traded two summers ago, and the Blue Jackets organization paid him tribute with a video montage during the first period:
Nash, the first overall pick at the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, was nominated for the Calder Trophy in his rookie campaign and finished tied with Jarome Iginla and Ilya Kovalchuk for the Maurice Richard Trophy as the NHL’s top goalscorer in his second.
He was a five-time All-Star with the Jackets, served four years as captain and left the club as the franchise’s all-time leader in a number of offensive categories.
