The Dutchman will reportedly be named Everton’s next manager over the weekend following the departure of Roberto Martinez.
According to Daily Mail, the swaying factor in Koeman’s decision to join the Toffees is owner Farhad Moshiri’s willingness to inject money into the squad this summer, which was something that Southampton simply couldn’t compete with due to the team’s financial restrictions.
During his time with Southampton, Koeman posted an impressive 44-17-30 record while with the Saints. In 2015/16, the Dutchman guided the Saints to a sixth-finish in the PL and qualification into the UEFA Europa League next season.
