The manager of the Leeds United academy has agreed to become the new manager of the senior side.
According to the BBC, 49-year-old former Barnsley captain Neil Redfearn has verbally agreed to a deal to become the next manager at Elland Road.
Redfearn filled in as caretaker manager earlier this year and picked up three wins and a draw in four matches. It was his third time filling in as caretaker manager at Leeds. With Darko Milanic dismissed on Saturday, Redfearn was placed in charge of training on Monday.
Redfearn has formerly managed at Scarborough and Northwich Victoria of the lower leagues. He had over 800 appearances as a player for nearly 20 clubs across England.

The appointment would make Redfearn the fourth manager at Leeds in just five months. Milanic failed to win a single match in his six games in charge of the Championship club, while Dave Hockaday and Brian McDermott have also been at the helm since May.
Redfearn hopes he will be here longer than that, telling the Yorkshire Evening Post Monday, “I don’t want this to be a short-term thing, that is no good for anybody. He [owner Massimo Cellino] told me that he sees me here for the long haul and that he wanted me here with him and that he does not see this as a short-term thing.”
Leeds currently sits in 18th position in the Championship table, five points off the relegation zone.
