Alabama’s Alphonse Taylor charged with DUI

For the second time this offseason, Nick Saban has a high-profile off-field situation involving a starter with which to deal.

According to al.com, Alabama offensive lineman Alphonse Taylor was arrested Sunday and charged with driving under the influence. Other than the arrest being made by the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Department, no details of the incident have been made available.

As of yet, the school has not commented on the development.

Taylor was a starting guard for the Tide during the run to the national championship. This past week, the media tabbed the redshirt senior as second-team preseason All-SEC.

Earlier this offseason, All-American left tackle Cam Robinson and safety Hootie Jones were arrested on multiple charges. The district attorney in their Louisiana hometown, however, declined to prosecute the players.

Saban had come under fire of late for lack of game suspensions, especially as it pertains to Robinson.
