Last season, freshman B.J. Scott was on the receiving end of passes at Alabama. This season? He’ll be defending against the forward pass.According to the Birmingham News, Scott will make the move from wide receiver to defensive back beginning in spring practice. Initially, Scott will give it a go at safety, but could move to corner before it’s all said and done."Maybe he should have made that move last year,” Scott’s high school coach, Kerry Stevenson, told the paper. “B.J. got so used to scoring touchdowns when he was in high school, but that doesn’t mean (quarterback or receiver) was the best position for him. He’s home right now. I think they’ll try him at safety, but I know he can play corner, too. He’s a defensive player, by nature. Even when he had the ball in high school, he was hitting someone."One thing he wasn’t doing last year was getting the ball; in his first year in Tuscaloosa, Scott had a grand total of two receptions.
