BYU QB suffers knee injury in spring game

Filling in for the injured Taysom Hill in BYU’s spring game, quarterback Ammon Olsen was off to a good start.

Before he went down awkwardly with a knee injury, that is.

Though the injury appeared scary at first, the preliminary belief is that Olsen suffered a partially torn PCL and not an ACL or MCL tear. A MRI is scheduled for Monday, but doctors believe surgery will not be required. Olsen should be out for about six weeks and ready to return for fall camp.

Olsen completed 6-of-11 passes for 96 yards prior to his injury.

Hill, the presumed starter heading into the 2013 season, is coming off his own knee injury that knocked him out for a majority of the 2012 season.
