A petition to the NCAA has proven successful as Pittsburgh linebacker Adam Gunn has been granted a sixth year of eligibility, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting.Gunn missed all of last season after breaking a bone in his neck during the Panthers’ season-opening win over Bowling Green. The LB suffered the injury after colliding with a teammate.Even as he has been granted an additional season, he has yet to be medically cleared to play by the university. It’s uncertain whether or not he will be able to participate in spring practice but, the paper says, he should be fully recovered by the time summer rolls around.
