With Colt McCoy in the locker room, freshman quarterback Garrett Gilbert has done just about nothing. Now it looks like Gilbert is talking to trainers and the Longhorns could be in an Armageddon-type situation.
With Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram punching in the game’s first touchdown, Alabama leads 7-6. With Texas down to their emergency quarterback, that could be all the scoring they’ll need.
There’s been no word on whether McCoy will come back and I’ve got no idea how badly dinged Gilbert is, but the Longhorns’ number three QB is Sherrod Harris, a fourth year quarterback who has only appeared in five career games.
Not exactly a great follow-up to the Longhorns incredible start.
