Report: four-star 2015 LB Adonis Thomas transferring from Alabama

For the third time since the end of spring, Alabama is seeing a player at least looking into a transfer. Reportedly.

Citing an unnamed source, al.com is reporting that Adonis Thomas has decided to transfer out of Nick Saban‘s football program. Playing time, the source said, is the motivation behind the linebacker’s decision, a situation he will address by reportedly dropping down to an unnamed junior college for the upcoming season.

A UA official declined to address what if any changes have been made to Thomas’ status with the team.

A four-star member of the Tide’s 2015 recruiting class, Thomas was rated as the No. 11 outside linebacker in the country and the No. 19 player at any position in the state of Georgia. Thomas took a redshirt as a true freshman last season.

Defensive back Shawn Burgess-Becker, another four-star 2015 recruit, opted to transfer from the Tide last month, with UCF reportedly his likely landing spot. Around the same time, reports surfaced that a fellow defensive back, senior Maurice Smith, would be transferring as well. However, the door has been left open by both sides for a return.
