Sooner LB Kellen Jones transferring... again

In August of 2011, Oklahoma officially announced that Kellen Jones had transferred to the Sooners from Michigan.

Less than seven months later, the linebacker is on the move yet again.

OU announced via a press release Thursday evening that Jones has decided to take his leave of the football program and transfer. Where the next road is on the Houston, Tex., native’s football travels is unknown.

“Kellen leaves the program in good standing, and we wish him the best,” head coach Bob Stoops said in a brief statement.

Jones was a three-star member of the Wolverines’ 2011 recruiting class before deciding to transfer to OU last summer. He played in 12 games as a true freshman last season and was credited with 10 tackles.

Unlike his first transfer, Jones will not be permitted to play immediately if he decides to move to another Div. 1-A (FBS) program.
