Stanford jumps Boise in latest BCS Top 5

Another week, another pair of unbeaten teams go down. Following their own upset loss a week ago at home to Texas Tech, No. 11 Oklahoma took out their frustration on 10th-ranked Kansas State, stuffing the Wildcats 58-17. Likewise, No. 6 Clemson’s good fortune finally ran out on the road against Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets shocked the Tigers 31-17.

Stanford survived an upset on the road in a triple OT thriller against USC, so their BCS hopes are alive for another week. The Cardinal jumped idle Boise State for the No. 4 spot, so if the Cardinal keep winning, their chances of playing in the BCS national title increase dramatically. Wisconsin, on the other hand, has officially seen their chances of a BCS title game slip away in another astounding, last-second loss, this time at the hands of Ohio State.

With only six undefeated teams remaining, the BCS picture is getting ever slightly clearer, and the Nov. 5 game between top-ranked LSU and No. 2 Alabama will once again whittle that number down to at least five. Will it remain at five for the remainder of the season? Or, will more undefeated teams get knocked off? This past weekend showed how tough it can be to go into a game week after week and come out with a win.

Either way, it should be an exciting November.
