SAN FRANCISCO – With temperatures in the 40s and the afternoon fourball matches quickly becoming blowouts, Hunter Mahan, who was sat in the afternoon by U.S. captain Fred Couples, could have been forgiven if he watched the proceedings from the warmth of the clubhouse.
Nothing doing. Mahan was walking with the Tiger Woods-Steve Stricker group, complete with a towel tucked in his sweater for warmth.
Mahan makes a poor cheerleader, but he is dedicated.
