Oakmont wet but still a brute

OAKMONT, Pa. – The advantage disappeared quickly Saturday morning at the U.S. Women’s Open.

Oakmont looked like it was going to play so much softer and easier after Friday’s rains with Sophie Gustafson making birdie at three of her first four holes when she resumed her rain-suspended round Saturday morning, but she gave all that advantage back before making the turn.

With the second round’s resumption winding down, only one player on the course at this writing this morning is under par for the second round. Jeong Jang is 1-under through 10 holes. Stacy Lewis posted a second round 1-under 70 on Friday.
