DORAL, Fla. –Donald Trump vowed on Wednesday that the new and improved Blue Monster “drains in five minutes.” If Thursday’s forecast holds, officials and players at the WGC-Cadillac Championship are going to find out if The Don is correct.

According to the PGA Tour’s weather report for Round 1 at Doral, there is a chance of thunderstorms beginning at 1 p.m. ET. At 4 p.m. that forecast degrades to “strong thunderstorms likely.”

Players began teeing off at 11 a.m. and the world’s Nos. 1, 2 and 3 – Tiger Woods, Adam Scott and Henrik Stenson, respectively – are scheduled to begin their rounds at 12:39 off the first tee.

Perhaps even more concerning for players will be winds that are expected to reach 20 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.
