Steve Stricker had himself a Saturday. Not only did his hometown Wisconsin Badgers take on his alma mater Illinois Fighting Illini in football, but he was the halftime entertainment.
Dressed appropriately for the occasion in an Ilini hat and Badgers shirt, Stricker was tasked with trying to land a shot on the Wisconsin “W” at midfield from the top of Camp Randall Stadium, as only about 80,000 people looked on.
A strapped-in Stricker got three tries at the slightly downhill 135-yard shot. If he was able to hit the target from the top of the video board, one lucky fan would’ve recieved VIP Wanamaker Club tickets to the 2015 PGA Championship at nearby Whistling Straits. Sadly, he missed. If he needs some consoling, I know who he could call.
Never hit in front of 80,000 people before! @UWBadgers @IlliniAthletics #nervous pic.twitter.com/RsXumDhP0L
