Brewers RHP prospect Adam Hill allowed one run over five innings with five strikeouts on Thursday for Low-A Wisconsin.
Hill, 22, scattered three hits, and he walked two in the strong start. It lowers the right-hander’s ERA to 3.78 over 78 2/3 innings with the Timber Rattlers, and his K/BB ratio improves to 66/33. Acquired in the deal that sent Keon Broxton to the Mets, Hill was a fourth-round pick out of South Carolina, and he shows four pitches that all grade at least average. His curveball is his best pitch, but he also throws a cutter/slider that can miss bats, and he gets his fastball into the mid 90 mph range. Hill needs to improve his command -- significantly -- but he could be a strong reliever if it doesn’t get to average. if it can reach that mark, however, he could pitch in a rotation and offer some fantasy relevance in the process.
