Lloyd made a spot start Tuesday against the Mets, scattering six hits and four runs over four innings in a no-decision. He’ll be back with the Padres at some point.

Lloyd will make his major league debut as the Padres’ starting pitcher Tuesday night against the Mets. The 26-year-old right-hander threw a no-hitter earlier this season at Double-A San Antonio, but there are better fantasy streaming options out there.

Lloyd posted a 7-6 record with a 4.18 ERA across 20 starts between Double-A San Antonio and Triple-A El Paso, striking out 112 batters across 118 1/3 innings. He has plenty of potential, but right now he is only worth a look in deeper NL-only play and long-term keeper formats.

Lloyd cleared waivers after being designated for assignment and will remain in the organization. He posted a 5.01 ERA over 27 starts between Double- and Triple-A in 2017 and was roughed up in a spot start with the Padres.

The move clears a 40-man roster spot for right-handed reliever Colten Brewer, who was signed to a one-year major league contract on Wednesday. Lloyd made his MLB debut in a spot start for the Padres this past July, yielding four earned runs over four innings in a no-decision against the Mets. It was his only appearance at the big league level in 2017.
