On Saturday, Yankees outfielder Clint Frazier made a leaping grab at the wall in a Grapefruit League game against the Pirates. Per MLB.com’s Bryan Hoch, Frazier is still dealing with concussion symptoms.

Frazier said, “I can’t even sit in my living room without feeling like [crap]. My head hurts. It’s just the headaches; I can’t shake the headache all day.”

The Yankees’ outfield is spoken for with Brett Gardner, Aaron Hicks, and Aaron Judge, but Frazier is still trying to make the Opening Day roster. He worries that this injury may hurt his changes. Frazier said, “That’s the concerning part, how long these things can take. I have a goal to attain and it’s not fun watching it feel like it dwindles away while you’re sitting on the shelf with a head injury.”

Yesterday, I highlighted Andrew Baggarly’s article about Brandon Belt for The Athletic. Belt (and Baggarly) described what it was like for the first baseman to battle his concussion. That and Frazier’s testimony here show that it’s no fun ride. Hopefully Frazier and the Yankees don’t try to rush back as a concussion is a serious injury.
