The Dodgers acquired first baseman Andy Wilkins from the Blue Jays for cash considerations, per the team’s official Twitter. To make room for him on the active roster, the Dodgers designated pitcher Scott Baker for assignment.

Wilkins, 26, made his major league debut last season with the White Sox, but posted a meager .364 OPS in 45 plate appearances. With Triple-A Buffalo to begin the season, Wilkins hit .264/.353/.319 in 85 PA. He has primarily played first base but has some limited experience at third base as well.

Baker, 33, made two starts for the Dodgers this season. He allowed seven runs on 11 hits and three walks while striking out eight in 11 innings.
