Dodgertown in Vero Beach, Florida was the spring training home of the Dodgers for decades. A few years back the team left the site, however, and moved its spring operations to Arizona. Since then Vero Beach has been looking for things to do with the site. As they looked, however, they had been unable to call it “Dodgertown” because the team’s previous owner Frank McCourt said they couldn’t use the team’s name.
Now, in just the latest bit of De-McCourt-i-fication of the franchise, the new owners have reversed it:Good for new #Dodgers owners to do what McCourt would not: let Vero Beach site be called “Dodgertown.”

No more “Vero Beach Sports Village” because McCourt wouldn’t let go of “Dodgertown.” Now it’s “Historic Dodgertown - Vero Beach.”

Still no idea if the site will house baseball again -- if it does it won’t be the Dodgers so it might need another name change -- but it’s nice to see a bit of history being maintained if only in the name.
