Astros starter Gerrit Cole was scratched from his scheduled start the other day with hamstring discomfort. He has since characterized it as a “mild” issue. Today A.J. Hinch confirmed that, and said Cole should be good to go next week. In essence, he’ll have been skipped once through the rotation.
Cole, 28, is having a fantastic season thus far, with a 14-5 record, a 2.87 ERA and a 226/39 K/BB ratio in 156.2 innings. That strikeout total leads the league.
