ESPN’s Buster Olney reported earlier today that the Tigers “are prepared to spend big, big dollars” to re-sign right-hander Max Scherzer, but general manager Dave Dombrowski is singing a very different tune. Check out his comments to the media earlier this evening:
Dombrowski on Scherzer report: "I don't know where he got that from. That's not accurate. I know it didn't come from this room."

Dombrowski on Scherzer: "There's not 1 thing that's changed from a Detroit Tigers perspective." No new conversations.

It sounds like Scherzer’s agent, Scott Boras, could be up to some funny business in an attempt to jump-start his client’s market.
