Cardinals closer Trevor Rosenthal will not be available to pitch in tonight’s All-Star game due to arm soreness.

Jennifer Langosch of MLB.com reports that Rosenthal was “feeling a little sore after throwing yesterday” and informed NL/Giants manager Bruce Bochy and his own manager, Mike Matheny, of his situation. They all decided it was best if he sat out.

Rosenthal had an excellent first half, saving 26 games with a 1.49 ERA and 45/15 K/BB ratio in 42 innings, but he had back-to-back rough outings in his final two appearances and previously missed some time in mid-June with arm soreness.
