To the casual fan, Dwight Howard’s post game is a crime against humanity. A man with his physical gifts should be dropping 30 a night, they say. Dropping sky hooks on a whim, they say. Calling to mind the centers of old, they say.
To hell with that, I say. Howard’s moves on the block may seem robotic at times, but he’s still an effective low-post threat. Will his repertoire ever even whiff that of, say, Hakeem Olajuwon? Well, funny that I should strategically and rhetorically pose that question, because over the summer, Howard has been putting in work with Olajuwon to expand his array of moves down low. Enjoy, and take it easy on league’s top center and most dominant defensive player while you’re at it, eh?
