Every compliment Kevin Durant pays the Warriors is interpreted as an implicit diss of the Thunder.

It seems he’s now going out of his way to avoid that.

Asked about acclimating to Golden State’s culture, Durant definitely refers to Oklahoma City in this response.

Anthony Slater of The Mercury News:

Durant:

I’ve been part of a great culture before. But you’re dealing with different people, different personalities. But when you’re around good people and you’re around winning basketball already, it makes coming here less of a – the shock value is not as high as it would be if I was coming from a losing organization.

On balance, the Thunder are a good organization. The Warriors are a better organization.

That’s why Durant left Oklahoma City for Golden State.

Sorry, Thunder. You do a lot right. You’re just not light years ahead.
