The New York Rangers appeared to be in control of Sunday’s game against Washington.
The Blueshirts jumped out to a 3-1 lead, as they got goals from J.T. Miller, Chris Kreider and Dan Boyle scored in the first period.
That’s when things fell apart.
The Capitals responded with four second period goals by Evgeny Kuznetsov, T.J. Oshie, Alex Ovechkin and Justin Williams. Ovechkin and Williams both scored on the power play.
#NYR Vigneault: "Our penalty-killing in the second period gave them momentum. We struggled and there's no doubt the game got away from us."

Here’s Ovechkin’s go-ahead goal:
The Rangers pulled Henrik Lundqvist going into the third period and they replaced him with Magnus Hellberg (Antti Raanta’s injured).
Jason Chimera (shorthanded) and Marcus Johansson both beat Hellberg in the third period.
Zuccarello calls loss "embarrassing." Kreider says, "of course it is, you want to give your fans something to cheer about."
