Mourinho mocks Klopp’s sideline antics: “I try to coach”

Manchester United FC v FC Zorya Luhansk - UEFA Europa League

Jose Mourinho is not a fan of Jurgen Klopp’s energetic sideline antics.

Speaking ahead of the huge north west derby between bitter rivals Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield on Monday (Watch live, 3 p.m. ET on NBCSN and online via NBC Sports), Mourinho has lambasted his counterpart for his fist-pumping, incessant screaming and general from-at-the-mouth antics on the sidelines during games.

Here’s what Mourinho had to say via The Times.

“I’m on the touchline to try to coach,” Mourinho said. He then waved his arms in the air, mimicking Klopp, and added: “I’m not on the touchline . . . [doing this].”

Maybe the fact that Mourinho only has one win in five games against Klopp as a manager is the real reason he’s not impressed with the Germans antics.

Yes, Mourinho has won more silverware over his sensational coaching career but right now Klopp’s Liverpool have the edge over United as they sit three points above them in the Premier League.

Mourinho is the master of mind games but should he really be dishing out this kind of talk ahead of a game at Anfield?

Does anybody else remember his wild celebrations after Chelsea’s 2-0 win at Liverpool (which put a huge dent in Liverpool’s title bid) back in April 2014?
