After weeks of speculation, and numerous bogus reports, the Miami Hurricanes are set to name their new offensive coordinator, the Miami Herald is reporting.According to The Herald, and citing a high-ranking source close to the situation, head coach Randy Shannon has settled on Philadelphia Eagles offensive assistant coach Mark Whipple as his new coordinator. The move will likely be announced at a press conference tomorrow, the paper said, pending the completion of routine human-resource protocols.Whipple has been considered one of the leading candidates dating back at least a week. Over the weekend, CFT received an unconfirmed tip that Whipple was indeed Shannon’s choice, but the assistant coach was uncertain as to whether or not he would take the Miami position. There was also talk that Andy Reid would make Whipple his club’s quarterbacks coach, but that seemingly will not come to fruition.
