Ducks suffering major Trojan hangover

Now maybe Oregon knows exactly what Southern Cal feel like.

Just one week after being the pummelers in a beat down of the Trojans, the Ducks today find themselves as the pummelees against Stanford.

(Yes, I’m aware that there are two words in the above sentence that aren’t actually words. Don’t care.)

At the half, stunningly, it’s Stanford 31, No. 8 Oregon 14. Yep, that’s correct. The same team that dropped the Pac-10 kings by 27 now find themselves facing a 17-point deficit at the half to the 5-3 Cardinal.

While the Ducks have put up 200 yards of offense, Stanford has rolled up 316 yards of offense in 30 minutes -- 189 passing, 127 rushing.

Cardinal running back Toby Gerhart is having a Heisman statement game, rushing for 110 yards -- on an amazing 23 carries -- and two touchdowns in the half.

Obviously, with the offensive fire power the Ducks possess, this game is far from over. Still, head coach Chip Kelly must find some way to pry his charges’ heads from their rectums if the Ducks want to retain any hope of staying in the national title picture.
