Ex-Ohio State receiver Duron Carter won’t be making an impact for Alabama on the field this year, but he’s helping the Tide prepare for their Nov. 5 game against LSU in any way he can.
Namely, practicing as LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson.
Jefferson, known as more of a runner than true passer, is 6-foot-5, 225 pounds; Carter is 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds.
Since being reinstated to LSU‘s team in late September after his charge for his involvement in an August bar fight was reduced to simply battery, Jefferson has seen the field in limited roles behind starter Jarrett Lee. In four games this season, Jefferson has only attempted 10 passes. Against Tennessee, though, Jefferson rushed 14 times for 73 yards and a touchdown.
Alabama hasn’t dealt with a running threat at quarterback like Jefferson all year. How much of an impact, if any, will Jefferson have on the college football’s No. 1 scoring defense? TBD, but the Tide are preparing for all possible scenarios.
