There’s a bit of bad news for USC fans -- besides being unable to make the inaugural Pac-12 Championship Game -- for which the Trojans can thank the injury bug.
According to Pedro Moura of ESPN Los Angeles, incoming freshman defensive end DeVante Wilson tore his ACL earlier this month and will undergo surgery on August 9th that will force him to miss the entire 2011 season.
Wilson, a three-star athletes, suffered the injury during workouts in his hometown of Corona, California. He is expected to redshirt.
